HairVlog: Herbal Essences Obsession!

My HE collection! Hydralicious-Color Me Happy-None of Your Frizzness-Long Term Relationship Leave In

So I am in looooooove with Herbal Essences! I've only tried their conditioners and leave in. I have to say I was pretty skeptical with this line at first because I only really saw white girls in the commercials and only saw white girls buying it and using it. Little did I know, tons of AA women looove this line too! This helped me realize that hair products aren't always for just one type of ethnicity and I think that's GREAT! Anyways I would have to say my staples so far from this line are HE Hydralicious conditioner and the Long Term Relationship leave in. I use the Hydralicious as my DC, I mixed it with some Glycerine and grapeseed oil and it's the best deep conditioner I've ever had! Color Me Happy is my newest edition so I haven't found a use for it yet but I love the smell and it gives great slip! None of Your Frizzness is my detangling conditioner. I can have the worst tangles ever and all I have to do is put some of this in my hair and they literally vanish! I'd be nothing without this line and that's the honest truth! The conditioners give me instant slip, detangle like no other, and make my hair and bathroom smell amazingggggg! I think I want to try Tousle Me Softly or Body Envy next. Btw I've never tried their shampoos and since I have more than enough of those I probably never will!

Product Review - Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Split End Protector

So I've had this product since about last November and it is a definite staple! I will say I have the old formula and haven't tried the new formula yet. I've heard mixed reviews on the new formula but once my 2 other bottles of the old formula finish, guess I'll have to try it. Anyways I HATE this product on freshly washed hair as a leave in. It doesn't make my hair soft I think it just doesn't do anything for my hair. But my other black friend liked it on wet hair along with my white girl friend so my hair may just be picky. My hair absolutely LOVES this on dry hair as a moisturizer though. I concentrate this product on my ends first because of the name (lol) and because the ends are the oldest and driest part of the hair. Then I put more through the rest of my hair. I then seal it in with a light oil, put my bonnet on and go to sleep! In the morning my hair is nice and soooooft. The smell is a light scent and smells like raspberries and lasts for awhile on the hair but isn't overwhelming. The consistency can be sticky sometimes and it may even make the hair seem a bit sticky but spread it more throughout the hair and the stickiness leaves. I can't remember the exact price but I think it was under $3. Overall I absolutely LOVE this product and hopefully I'll love the new formula so I can always have it!

Pros: smell, price, it works!, light protein, it's pink!
Cons: availability (not at my Walmarts), consistency, formula change, light protein (if you're protein sensitive be aware)
Repurchase?: If I see an old formula bottle YES, unsure about the new formula though

Product Review - ApHogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor

Boy lemme tell you, I LOOOOOVE this product! It's my go to product when my hair needs a little protein. I've had this product along with my other ApHogee products since January 2010 and these products turned my hair completely around. ApHogee is a well known protein line in the haircare world as it should be! Anyways this product is a light protein to my hair. I can leave it on from 2-5 minutes (the recommended time) to 45 minutes and beyond. I use this product about 1x every 2 weeks to keep my protein and moisture in balance. I've never gotten a protein overload or any problems from this product because I use it when my hair needs it! I don't need to mix it with anything because it' just that good! So if you have relaxed, dry, damaged hair, I suggest this product along with the whole ApHogee line.
Pros: smell, consistency, it works!, light protein, can be used weekly, leaves hair SOFT, detangles instantly
Cons: price, only found in BSS
Repurchase?: Always and forevermore, I definite staple product!

Product Review - Wave Nouvea Moisturizing Finishing Lotion

So at the beginning of my HHJ, I picked this product up as my daily moisturizer. I will say I LOVED it at first. It would leave my hair a bit wet feeling but when it "dried" my hair was nice and soft. I'd seal this in with an oil afterward, wrap my hair and go to bed. In the morning my hair would be pretty soft. The downside of the product is it stopped working for me after a few months! I would have to put a lot in and eventually it just stopped making my hair soft and was actually breaking off my ends! Come to find out later on, this product has protein in it and I guess it was too much for my hair to handle. Never finished the 1st bottle I got. So overall this product was just alright, I wouldn't recommend it though because it can cause problems with protein overload down the road.

Pros: nice protein moisturizer if your hair can handle it
Cons: smell, can cause protein overloads, buildup, sticky texture, leaves hair "wet"
Repurchase?: Nope!

HairVlog: Being 14 - Weeks Post!

So in a few days I'll be 14 weeks post relaxer. This is the longest stretch I've ever been on in my life! Since being on my HHJ, my hair has gotten easier to manage and it is behaving during this stretch. Normally my hair would be unbearable at 8 weeks but to make it this far with no major mishappenings is a result from all the hard work from my journey! I accomplish this from DCing, washing weekly, moisturizing and sealing nightly, not combing my hair unless its a wash day, and prepoos! I plan on getting a relaxer the 24th
